LG Optimus Vu: Super wide and Costly

Categorized under Smart mobile phones, LG Optimus Vu is a big phablet. Part Smartphone, part Tablet and designed for life (as LG says).Often compared with Samsung Galaxy Note 2 whose screen size is 5.5 inches, Vu boasts 5 inches.

Design:

4:3 aspect ratio, immense and even surpassing the width of Samsung GN 2, hence making the handling a bit uncomfortable. Err… Ergonomics!! However the built is fairly good but if you see its cost then you will not agree with it. But it’s quite a heavy phone too at 168 g, which adds to the discomfort. The 5-inch HD-IPS display surprisingly does not have an HD resolution. A resolution of 1024 x 768 on such a large screen is not the best when you compare it to the 4X HD from LG, which had a 4.7-inch HD screen.

Alert: The Rubberdium pen (HB pencil-like thickness) does not fit anywhere on the phone, like the S-Pen on the Galaxy Note. And that is a bit confusing, because expecting the users to carry another accessory is only expecting another disaster (Note 2 is a tablet which is carried with a kit/cover and hence the stylus can be kept in it whereas in Vu?).
