It is a well known fact that India is the IT hub of the world. The billion dollar IT industry is attracting the largest skilled workforce and with the growth of software export/outsourcing, it is expanding its edges with the speed of light. Now the industry has concreted its foot and barely got affected by the slowdown in the American economy. Started off in places like Bangalore with companies like Infosys and Wipro, now the number is more than hundred and new places are becoming the IT Company’s favorite.   • Bengaluru


Bangalore is the no.1 IT destination in India. Served major IT companies like Infosys and Wipro, Bangalore has grown quickly and accommodated many other IT companies; hence it is now called as the IT capital of India. It is also referred as the Silicon Valley of India. Comprising the most number of millionaires in India, Bangalore is truly a delight for IT sector as well as an inspiration for other cities to grow in the field of information technology.


  •  Hyderabad


Like Bangalore, Hyderabad also boomed in IT sector in a very short span of time. Many giants like Facebook, Microsoft, Google, Dell, Yahoo!, IBM etc. have established their centres in the city. Also known as cyberabad, Hyderabad is blooming unlike any other city with its innovation of HITEC city which is the centre of the information technology industry in Hyderabad. The city also had a considerable progress in the field of bio-technology through initiatives like the Genome Valley and Nanotechnology Park.


  •  Chennai


Chennai stands at number 3 after Bangalore and Hyderabad. The city has great potential to move ahead. Many IT companies have set up their development centres here. Along with IT, the city is becoming a hot destination for healthcare solutions.




  • Pune


Pune is still in the process of development. Many companies like Wipro, Infosys, Satyam, Tata Consultancy Services, VERITAS, Cognizant, PCS etc. have knocked the doors of the city. As new IT parks are being constructed, IT companies are getting attracted to the city. Taking Maharashtra into account, Mumbai has also done fair in comforting the IT companies.

Many IT companies have been in the city for years and have been doing significant business. A few years before, the city was pacing but it has become constant now which is taking the city down in the list. However the natives feel that the city has a competitive thrust in it and will come in top three someday.




  •  Delhi


With the birth of Gurgaon (the place where outsourcing industry practically get started), most of the Companies like Dell, Accenture etc. have set up their BPO and KPO in there. Now the city has the most number of BPO’s, making it one of the most important IT cities of India.




  •  Bhubaneswar


This city is a new catch of IT industry. IT companies have started setting up their office in the city. Hence the city is growing in terms of information technology and has the capability to attain new heights. Already huge amounts of investments in IT have been made in the state.




IT is an ever-growing industry and India has skyrocketed in its developments. With many cities catering the industry, huge number of employment has also been generated.
