How I Met Your Mother

The American sitcom, How I met your mother was created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays and it was directed by Pamela Fryman. The show started in the year 2005. The story revolves around the life story of main character, Ted Mosby (Josh Randor) told to his son and daughter with the narration of Bob Saget. The story is about the life of Ted Mosby, his friends and all the events and incidents that led Ted Mosby to meet his wife. How I met your mother has been quite successful and it has been receiving great rating throughout its run.


The roll of Ted Mosby is portrayed by Josh Radnor. He also serves as the narrator of the show telling this life story. He is the central character of the show from Ohio, an Architect from Wesleyan University. After realizing that his best friend is engaged to be married he decides to find his soul mate.

Robin Charles Scherbatsky, Jr. is portrayed by Cobie Smulders. Robin as one of the main characters of the show was raised as if she was a boy in Canada by her dad. In the beginning of the show Robin and Ted start dating each other but it does not work instantly and they have their struggles in their relationship.

Marshall Eriksen is portrayed by Jason Segel. Marshall is an easy going, person who lived most of his life in Minnesota and lived with his best friend Ted Mosby and his girlfriend Lily Aldrin. Marshall met Ted and Lily during his first year at Wesleyan University.

Lily Aldrin’s character is portrayed by Alyson Hannigan. She is Marshall Eriksen’s girlfriend and wife. She works in a kindergarten as a teacher and she is also an amateur painter. She grew up in Brooklyn, New York and she is of Swedish descent.

Barney Stinson is portrayed by Neil Patrick Harris and he is considered to be the show’s breakout character. He is his early thirties and always in a suit and he is a womanizer. He is completely different from his best friend Ted Mosby who wants to find his soul mate and settle down.
