If you are avoiding dark clothing and suddenly if hats are a part of your wardrobe: its time to get out of the closet and face the facts. Dandruff is NOT CONTAGIOUS AND CAN BE TREATED.

One of the most common reasons why dandruff is caused is because of dry skin. Other reasons might include not shampooing your hair for a long time or sharing your combs and brushes. This article informs you on the several remedies you can use on how to say bye-bye to dandruff.

1.     S.T.R.E.S.S

Yes! Did you know too much stress could cause dandruff too? Take a charge on your lifestyle and keep your stress levels at a minimal.

 2.     Say bye- bye to straighteners and blow dryers.

Ease up on the use of Hair mousse, gel, volumizer, and balms. They can surely help to reduce the flakes.

 3.     Shampoo

Shampoo everyday. This would help to keep your scalp clean. This is the best way to wash out your dandruff. By shampooing daily, you get rid of the excessive oil the scalp generates.

4.     Switch shampoos

If your regular shampoo isn’t doing the trick, its time to start using an anti-dandruff shampoo.

 5.     Avoid dairy products, sugar, seafood and flour.

 6.     Make a paste mixing 8 tbs. of pure organic peanut oil and the juice of half a lemon. Before washing your hair apply the mixture and rub it into your scalp.

 7.     Massaging the scalp with fresh apple juice is said to fade dandruff away.

 8.     Soak a handful of fenugreek or methi seeds in some water overnight. Next day, grind the seeds to a paste. Apply this on your scalp and leave to rest for a couple of hours. Rinse your hair with shikakai or ritha.

 9.     The hair should be brushed daily to improve the circulation and remove any flakiness. The most effective way to brush the hair is to bend forward from the waist with the head down towards the ground, and brush from the nape of the neck towards the top of the head. The scalp should also be thoroughly massaged everyday, using one’s fingertips and working systematically over the head. This should be done just before or after brushing the hair. Like brushing, this stimulates the circulation, dislodges dirt and dandruff, and encourages hair growth. Exposure of the head to the rays of the sun is also a useful measure in the treatment of dandruff.

 10.  Before washing your hair, rub aloe vera gel into your scalp. Leave it on for 10 minutes, and shampoo your hair as usual. Stinky and yucky but it works
