Home Remedies for Asthma

When you breath, air goes from your mouth and nose to your windpipe and then to lungs. An asthma attack happens only when the bronchi and bronchioles in the lungs come in contact or touch a foreign invader which is also known as asthma trigger. Trigger could be anything in the environment ranging from smoke to dust, cold weather etc. Asthma is generally inherited from parents. There are two types of asthmas which include allergic and non-allergic asthma. Both the kinds have similar symptoms. In order to get rid of your asthma you must eliminate all the triggers around your house and in your environment. Asthma sufferers must visit a doctor and a specialist in order to live comfortably with their asthma. No matter what, and how much medicine is taken by an asthma sufferer, he/she will not be fine if he/she smokes. If an asthma sufferer smokes, his condition will worsen over the years and eventually too bad and unbearable. As there is currently no permanent cure for asthma, home remedies and natural remedies for asthma can help the sufferers. Here are some home remedies for Asthma: –

  • Add 1 teaspoon honey to half teaspoon cinnamon powder and have it just before going to bed.
  • Boil 10 pieces of garlic in half cup of milk and have it at night before going to bed.
  • Keep 5 dry figs in a cup of water and let it soak. Eat them on an empty stomach and drink the water that the figs where soaked in. After consuming this do not eat anything for at least one hour. Keep doing this for 2 months.
  • Add one teaspoon of honey in hot water and consume it as hot as you can tolerate slowly. This will help remove the phlegm from the throat.
  • Soak one teaspoon of fenugreek seed in a cup of water for at least 8 hours. Add one teaspoon of ginger juice and one teaspoon of honey. Drink it twice a day (morning and evening).

There are a few things that you should remember while suffering from asthma. They include avoiding alcohol, bananas, exercise, and swim and drink lots of water. Try to have healthy food and most important of all, Do not under any circumstances smoke (this includes second hand smoke as well).
