Google Nexus: Explored Unabridged

A revolution in the mobile devices has taken many forms on its way till now. Different types and different operating systems are what we mostly deal with nowadays. Over the history mobile devices have become most important parts of our lives. ‘Google’ the name itself declares the standard in the field of technology. Google Nexus is the product of Google which includes mobile devices based on the Android operating system. These devices are manufactured by Google in coordination of manufacturing partners. The Name Nexus comes from the Latin verb “Nestor”, meaning “to bind”. Google has developed series which includes seven devices till now. The first device from this series was manufactured in the year 2010 and the last one was released in the year 2012. The Devices of the series are as follows.

Nexus One : This is the first product of the Nexus series and was developed and released at the start of year 2010. The device was manufactured by HTC corporation hence was condemned as ‘HTC passion’. 1 GHz Processor with 5MP camera and the 3.7-inch AMOLED screen was the main attracting features of this Smart phone.

Nexus S : The Nexus S is a smart phone co-developed by Google and Samsung and manufactured by Samsung Electronics. Nexus S was released at the end of 2010. This was the second phone of the Nexus series and also the first Smartphone to use the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system.

Galaxy Nexus : Galaxy Nexus is the third generation smart phone in the Google’s Nexus series. It was developed by a partnership between Google and Samsung in the year 2011. The device had an operating system of android 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich) which debuted on the device.

Nexus 4 : This is the latest model of the Google’s Nexus series and is fourth in the list. The phone was designed with and manufactured by LG Electronics. This is the fastest of the all the phones in the series of nexus. The phone was launched in the year 2012.

Nexus 7 : Nexus 7 is the first tablet of Google and it came from the Nexus series which was developed by ASUS in the mid of year 2012 and is based on the Android Operating system.

Nexus 10 : This is the second tablet in the nexus series which was developed by Google and Samsung with Android Operating System. The tablet was released in the year 2012.

Nexus Q : The Nexus Q was a media-streaming entertainment device that ran Android and integrated with Google Play. This device also comes from the Google nexus family and has the spherical shape. The device was unofficially dropped in October 2012 when Google announced the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10. The device was biggest flops of the year 2012. The device runs on the custom version of Google’s Android system.
