Google giving Zagat ratings in search results

Zagat Survey which was established by Nina and Tim Zagat in the year 1979 provides ratings and guides on hotels, nightlife, shopping, zoos, music, movies, theaters, golf courses and airlines was bought by Google in last September. Zagat used to charge $25 annually and $5 per month for providing users with online access to around 35,000 restaurants over 100 cities in the world. But now that Google is the owner, their services are added as a new entree to Google’s menu that provides free restaurant ratings with reviews from Zagat.

The online services will be available on for free and other services of Google’s websites. Google has now made the world’s best quality reviews available to everyone for free. However the iPhone application of still charges $10 for one year and $25 for Android based smartphones.
