Caffeine and its Effects

Caffeine is basically a potent drug which is naturally found in plants for protection against insects. This drug’s effects can be easily felt by creating an effect in our body quite similar to stress which is very bad for people with heart conditions and blood pressure. This quick-affecting drug acts almost instantly and it can be felt immediately after consumption. The effects of caffeine continue to appear even after every few months which means it has severe effects on our body.

Caffeine affects each person differently from another. For example I get insomnia at night when I drink coffee or tea but my brother gets very good sleep after having coffee.

Many of us addicted to caffeine without even knowing it. Every time that we drink tea, coffee, cocoa, chocolate or cola we are giving our bodies a hit of caffeine. Caffeine is a mood –affecting drug that is widely used everywhere. By having more than two to three drinks of caffeine everyday you will be addicted and have habit of drinking it more regularly. This habit will affect your emotionally as well as physically in a very powerful manner. For example when you are used to drinking tea or coffee every morning, and you do not get to have it one day you will get mood swings and become very unstable.

Here are the effects of Caffeine on our bodies and minds: – (as mentioned above the effects can be different for each person)

  • Stimulation of heart rate and central nervous system
  • Raises the level of fatty acids in the blood
  • Messages will be passed along the nervous system much quicker
  • Stimulation of blood circulation
  • Raises blood pressure
  • Acidity
  • Irritation of stomach lining
  • Bad digestion caused by relaxed muscles of intestinal system
  • Increased urination
  • Intense mental activity
  • Diversely affects the length of quality of sleep
  • Decreased bone density
  • Shaking hands
  • Nervousness, irritability, agitation, headaches, ringing in the ears
