Apps that Ruled 2012: Facebook, Instagram, Angry Birds and YouTube

According to Flurry, in 2012, consumers spent on average two hours everyday using mobile applications i.e. an increase of 35 percent over last year. And what’s that special thing that sticks our fingers to the device, addictive apps!

What are the apps that we can say ruled the year 2012?

According to Reuters, Angry Birds, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook continued to be among the most downloaded apps of the year.


Social networking, media and entertainment, photo editing, and games remain the common interest of the consumers.

Few other apps that won the heart and are the most downloaded and revenue grossing apps of the year are: Draw Something, Songza (only for the United States and Canada), Paper (a sketchbook app) and other day-to-day helping apps such as Uber to book taxis and AirBnB and HotelTonight for finding accommodations.

Also Payment apps such as Square has now turned our Smartphones to the Digi-wallet.

Apps have now become an addictive necessity. Well not to forget the father of all, internet that turned 30 on Tuesday.
