10 Ways to Improve Your Personality

People try hard to improve their personalities. It is believed that a strong personality would take you places. Your personality portrays what you are and how you portray yourself. It is an indication of whether or not you would be able to strive and live in this world. In short, a complete development of your personality is extremely important in order to be recognized and known for what you are. It is very important to develop your personality to reduce all the negative thoughts off your head, and feel good all the time of your own self and your surroundings. Keeping this in mind, here are 10 tips to help develop your personality.

1. Be a good listener: Looking right into the person’s eyes and being all ears to them couldn’t make you look much more confident ever. Being a patient listener and giving a hear to each and every word of the speaker does not only show your confidence, but also makes the speaker feel good and leave a good impression of you. There is nothing more appealing a trait than being a good listener, which is a reflection of a strong healthy personality.

2. Read and know more: The more you meet new people, the more is the need to share and exchange your views with them. To accomplish this, it is important to read and know more of things around you, and cultivate interest in newer things each day. This would help to pick up a conversation with new people you meet and make you look and sound interesting and develop your personality to the more creative side.

3. Don’t be shy and try to be a good conversationalist: It is immensely important to know how to talk to people and to make sense while you talk. For this, reading and having a decent knowledge of things around you would enable you to talk of things of interest and make your conversation more interesting and appealing. Being a good and smart conversationalist is one of the most important traits and signs towards possessing a good personality.

4. Have a strong opinion on things you believe in: A conversation with someone tends to go boring if you do not have an opinion, because after that you have got nothing to talk about. Thus, having an opinion on things in general around you would help you take on a conversation to a much higher level, and as it is said, a unique outlook expands everyone’s perspective.

5. Try meeting new people: People are different and unique in their own way. The more you meet people, the more diverse you will get in your opinions, views, habits and outlook. Realizing that every person and every situation is different would help you mould your views accordingly, which is very important to having a good personality because then you know how to deal with different people and situation without any turbulences.

6. Be yourself: Molding yourself in order to fit in a group of people or a particular conversation is a sign of a weak personality and totally not of an adjustable or flexible personality. Stand up for what you believe in and have a strong, non flexible opinion on it. There is no need to change your opinions and views in the presence of someone with an equally strong argument on the topic.

7. Have a positive attitude towards things: No one can tolerate a person who keeps on complaining and nagging about things around him. It eventually gets on people nerves as negative attitude is something which will not sustain you for a longer time. Therefore, it is necessary to have a positive outlook towards things and people around you. Having a positive outlook does not only please the other person but also reflects positive and good vibes in you.

8. See the humorous side of life: Comic relief is always welcome in a healthy conversation. Sometimes it is important to leave the serious and boring part of a topic and see things in a much creative and humorous way. This not only leads to a healthy and positive conversation, but also keeps it interesting and lively for a longer time.

9. Be supportive of others: No matter what you talk or argue with someone about, it is important to support the other person and his views too. Arguing and fighting with someone are two totally different aspects. Argue, but at the same time, it is important to realize and respect the other person’s views, and also support him in case they need it.

10. Have Integrity and treat people with respect: Being honest and true to your word will bring you the admiration, respect and gratitude of others. Nothing improves a person’s personality more than integrity and respect – respect for others, as well as respect for yourself.
